Southland back on the streets

Among the plethora of crime dramas that air on US television, one has earned plaudits for its raw, gritty and authentic look at the life of cops on the beat in Los Angeles.



Southland first aired on US cable network TNT in 2009 and is now in production for season five, which will debut stateside in February next year.

The show was created by Ann Biderman (NYPD Blue) and comes from Warner Bros Television and John Wells Productions. Wells (The West Wing) is an executive producer on the series alongside Jonathan Lisco (The District) and Christopher Chulack (Third Watch).
