The producers of zombie drama The Walking Dead are heading back to World War Two for a new scripted project for US cable channel USA Network.
USA has greenlit a pilot of Horizon, which comes from Valhalla Entertainment. It tells the story of a secretary at the FBI who discovers her husband might have been killed in a battle with a spaceship in the South Pacific.
Horizon, which Valhalla will coproduce with Universal Cable Productions, is the first genre series since The 4400 and its first ever period drama. It will join other original series on the network including Suits, Burn Notice, White Collar, Royal Pains and Covert Affairs.
Another new series, Graceland, is due to begin in summer 2013, while filming has recently wrapped on comedy pilots Paging Dr Freed and a remake of British series Sirens.
