With a roster of imported UK series such as Doctor Who, Ripper Street and Luther on its slate, BBC America is one of the best kept secrets on US television.
It is also now ramping up its original content with series such as period police drama Copper.
The latest import heading to BBC America from the UK is Broadchurch, an eight-part ensemble drama due to air this year on ITV.
Starring David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Vicky McClure and Arthur Darvill, the series explores what happens to a small community when it is suddenly placed in the media spotlight following the launch of a major murder investigation.
It will air on BBC America as part of its successful Dramaville block, which includes Ripper Street, Whitechapel, The Hour and Spies of Warsaw.
Kudos Film and Television is behind Broadchurch, which was created and written by Chris Chibnall. Richard Stokes produces with executive producer Jane Featherstone.
BBC America also has also picked up US rights to Canadian science-fiction drama Orphan Black.
