Banshee back on Cinemax

Just three episodes into its ten-part debut season, US pay TV network Cinemax has renewed its action drama Banshee for a second season.

Created by Alan Ball (True Blood), the show follows an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identify of a sheriff in Banshee, Pennsylvania, and continues his criminal activities as he is hunted by the gang he betrayed years earlier.

It is executive produced by Ball, Jonathan Tropper, David Schickler, Peter Macdissi and Greg Yaitanes. Writers John Romano (Monk), Evan Dunsky (Two and a Half Men) and Doug Jung (Big Love) join Schickler and Tropper for season two.

Season one began on HBO-owned Cinemax on January 11 and season two will follow in 2014.
