David Tennant must be one of the busiest actors in Britain.
After appearing in BBC drama Spies of Warsaw and starring in soon-to-air The Politician’s Husband (BBC) and Broadchurch (ITV), the former Doctor Who is now on the set of another BBC miniseries.
Filming began today for The Escape Artist (3×60), a legal thriller in which Tennant is a junior barrister who specialises in getting people out of trouble. But when he defends the prime suspect in a murder trial and wins, he must face the unexpected consequences.
Created and written by David Wolstencroft (Spooks), the three-parter is produced by Endor Productions’ Hilary Bevan Jones (Restless) and Paul Frift and directed by Brian Welsh (Black Mirror). The executive producers are Wolstencroft and the BBC’s Matthew Read.
