Banshee lands at Sky

Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and The Newsroom landed on UK satellite broadcaster BSkyB’s Sky Atlantic channel as part of its exclusive output deal with US cable channel HBO.

To that list can now be added Banshee (10×60′), the new crime drama that is currently airing on HBO’s sister network Cinemax.

Due to premiere on Sky Atlantic in May, Banshee tells the story of an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Philadelphia, and continues his criminal activities despite being hunted by shadowy gangsters from his past.

The series is executive produced by Alan Ball (True Blood, Six Feet Under), Jonathan Tropper, David Schickler, Peter Macdissi and Greg Yaitanes.

And last month, Cinemax announced it had ordered a second season of Banshee after just three episodes.
