Fantasy adventure Sinbad will play no further part in BSkyB’s push into original content after the drama was axed after just one season.
The 12-part series first debuted on Sky One in July 2012 and told the story of the eponymous character who is cursed to a life at sea after killing the son of a powerful Lord.
Sinbad was made by Impossible Pictures for Sky One and distributor BBC Worldwide, which had racked up several overseas sales to networks including US cable channel Syfy, Canal+ in France, Bell Media-owned Space in Canada and ABC in Australia.
It is produced by Tim Haines, Sophie Gardiner and Andrew Woodhead for Impossible Pictures and Elwen Rowlands for Sky.
