Brazilian broadcaster Globo TV has sold one of its biggest scripted hits of 2012 into Uruguay.
Teledoce has picked up Globo telenovela Brazil Avenue (aka Avenida Brasil, 160×45′), which tells the story of a young girl who fights to reclaim the life that her terrible stepmother stole from her.
The Uruguayan network is close partners with Globo TV and currently airs more than 500 hours of its programming every year.
Other acquisitions include Looks and Essence and The Enchanted Tale.
Other recent deals completed by Globo TV International, the broadcaster’s distribution arm, include the sale of telenovela Sparkling Girls to Portugal’s SIC.
Sparkling Girls (120×45’) tells the story of three housekeepers who become a trio of successful singers after a video of them becomes an instant hit online.
It debuted last month and can be found on SIC’s schedules alongside Looks and Essence, Dancin’ Days, Brazil Avenue and Pages of Life.
