TNT ramps up drama

US cable channel TNT is promising to “ramp up the drama” after unveiling its summer line-up.

Falling Skies, about a band of survivors in a post-alien invasion world, returns for its third season in June alongside season two of crime procedural Major Crimes and the debut of new private eye drama King & Maxwell.

Season four of another crime drama, Rizzoli & Isles, season two of Perception and season three of legal drama Franklin & Bash also debut in June.

Falling Skies is produced by DreamWorks Television and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Remi Aubuchon and Greg Beeman.

Major Crimes is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company and Walking Entropy in association with Warner Bros Television. James Duff, Greer Shephard, Rick Wallace and Michael M Robin executive produce.

New series King & Maxwell comes from CBS Television Studios. Shane Brennan (NCIS: Los Angeles), Grant Anderson (Third Watch) and Chris Downey (Leverage) executive produce with producer Karen Spiegel and series consultant and author David Baldacci, upon whose characters the show is based.

Based on characters by crime novelist Tess Gerritsen, Rizzoli & Isles is produced by Warner Horizon Television, Janet Tamaro’s Hurdler Productions and Bill Haber’s Ostar Productions. Tamaro and Haber are executive producers.

Perception, about an eccentric neuroscience professor recruited by the FBI, was created by executive producer Ken Biller and co-executive producer Mike Sussman, with star Eric McCormack producing producer. It is produced by ABC Studios.

Franklin & Bash is produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions and FanFare Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Jamie Tarses, Kevin Falls, Matthew McGuinness and Bill Chais executive produce.
