Canadian drama Cracked is heading to the US.
Cable network ReelzChannel has picked up the one-hour series, produced by White Pine Pictures in association with broadcaster CBC.
It tells the story of a detective who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder but leads the newly formed Psych Crime Unit.
Cracked is executive produced by Janice Dawe, Peter Raymont, Tracey Forbes and Janet MacLean, with producers Jamie Paul Rock and Calum de Hartog.
Cracked has previously been sold by its international distributor Beta Film to France’s Canal+ and pay TV channel 13ème Rue, and Astral’s Séries+ in Canada.
White Pine Production’s other credits include another CBC drama The Border, which focuses on the elite Immigration and Customs Security Squad.
It is also developing The Negotiator, an international action thriller from writer Malcolm MacRury set in the world of kidnap and ransom where an ex-Special Forces operative goes head-to-head with hostage takers. It is being developed with Shaw Media and DARO Film Distribution, and executive produced by MacRury, Peter Raymont and David Barlow. It is distributed internationally by Entertainment One.
