Starz hits the floor

The distribution arm of US premium cable channel Starz has acquired rights to VH1’s forthcoming drama Hit The Floor.

Starz Worldwide Distribution will shop the 10×60′ scripted series, which was previously known as Bounce, to all territories outside the US.

The addition of Hit The Floor builds on Starz’s expanding distribution slate, which also includes Starz original series Spartacus, Magic City and forthcoming period drama The White Queen.

Hit The Floor was created by James LaRosa, who is executive producer with Maggie Malina and VH1’s Jill Holmes and Jeff Olde. The choreography was led by Michael Rooney and the pilot was written by James LaRosa.

It is produced by Bryan Johnson, The Film Syndicate and In Cahoots Media.

The story follows the lives and loves of the Devil Girls, the dance team for the Los Angeles Devils basketball team.
