US Hispanic network Univision weaves Mariachi songs into its latest telenovela about a nightclub in Mexico City and the characters who work and perform there.
Qué Bonito Amor (aka What a Beautiful Love) is described as a romantic story that uses the melodies and lyrics of traditional Mariachi songs to express the love that develops between the leading couple.
The telenovela is produced by Salvador Mejía and Mexican broadcaster Televisa, which first aired the drama in October 2012.
It is based on La Hija del Mariachi, produced by Colombia’s RCN Television and written by Mónica Agudelo.
Qué Bonito Amor will be stripped on Univision on weeknights following its debut on April 15.
