RTL in Germany is preparing to air a new TV movie that will serve as a backdoor pilot to a possible new crime series.
Mantrailer – Spuren des Verbrechens (aka Mantrailer – Traces of the Crime) tells the story of a pathologist and her dog who have moved to Berlin to take charge at the local homicide unit when they must investigate a series of attacks against the city’s special police force.
It takes its title – Mantrailer – from the name of specialist search and rescue dogs.
Phoenix Film has produced the backdoor pilot, which was filmed in Berlin between October and November last year. It is written by Frank Wollin and Tobias Rose, and the producer is Markus Brunnemann
RTL will air the movie on April 25.
