Bates Motel, the television series prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie Psycho, has found a UK broadcaster.
Universal Channel has acquired the drama, which is currently airing in the US on A&E and has already been renewed for a second season.
Based on the characters in Hitchcock’s 1960 film, Bates Motel tells the contemporary story of Norma Bates and her son Norman who seek a fresh start by buying a motel on the outskirts of a coastal town.
It is produced by Universal Television and executive produced by Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin.
Universal will debut the series, which was acquired from NBCUniversal International Television Distribution, in the UK this autumn.
