Australia’s ABC is set to begin filming season two of its original drama Redfern Now.
The series, which first aired in November 2012, tells the stories of six inner-city households in the same street, whose lives are changed by a seemingly innocent event.
Six new one-hour episodes, which will continue to focus on Indigenous Australians, have been written by Leah Purcell, Wayne Blair, John Bell, Adrian Russell Wills and Steven McGregor.
It is produced by Blackfella Films’ Miranda Dear and Darren Dale, with Jimmy McGovern as story producer.
Filming will start in and around Redfern on May 1.
The series is distributed by ABC Commercial.
