BBC catches The 7.39

The BBC has ordered a new romantic drama called The 7.39 from the makers of Downton Abbey.

NBCUniversal-owned Carnival Films will produce the two-parter, which is written by David Nicholls (One Day) and stars David Morrissey, Sheridan Smith, Olivia Colman and Sean Maguire.

The drama, which will air on BBC One, is about a man and a woman, both stuck in unfulfilling lives, whose lives change when they meet on the 7.39 train.

It is produced by Lynn Horsford and executive produced by Gareth Neame and Sally Woodward Gentle.
