Crackle taken to the Cleaners

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s VoD platform Crackle has ordered a new crime/action series Cleaners, from the production company owned by Avatar star Sam Worthington.

Cleaners (6×30′), is about two young women working as contract killers who find a sedated eight-year-old boy in their car boot and find themselves the target of a FBI hunt. It is written by Paul Leyden and produced by Worthington’s Full Clip Productions.

The series is currently in production and will launch in November.

Also greenlit by Crackle is Strand Street (6×30′), about a former member of a Venice surf gang who becomes a LAPD informant. It is produced by Milo Ventimiglia and will premiere this winter.

Meanwhile, the VoD service has ordered second season of The Bannen Way.

The Bannen Way (6×30′) is an action/comedy/thriller about a charming con man whose father is a police chief and uncle is a mob boss. The first season aired in 2013.

Crackle previously announced it had ordered season two of action thriller Chosen, due to air in February 2014, will begin production this summer.
