CBS has picked up three new dramas for its 2013/14 season, including a suspense thriller from Jerry Bruckheimer.
Hostages, which is executive produced by Bruckheimer, will air this fall while Intelligence and Reckless and lined up as midseason entries to the schedule.
The relatively low number of new dramas to air on CBS comes after the network renewed ten dramas, including Criminal Minds, Elementary, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hawaii Five-O, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife and The Mentalist.
Hostages is about a surgeon who becomes embroiled in a political conspiracy when her family is taken hostage by a rogue FBI agent. It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with Warner Bros Television, with executive producers Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, Rick Eid, Omri Givon, Rotem Shamir and Chayim Sharir.
Intelligence is a thriller about a high-tech intelligence operative with a super-computer microchip in his brain, allowing him to access the internet, telephone and satellite data and help fight to protect the US from its enemies. Michael Seitzman, René Echevarria, Tripp Vinson and David Semel (for the pilot) are executive producers for ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.
Reckless is a legal drama set in Charleston, South Carolina, about a New York litigator and a Southern attorney who must hide their mutual attraction as a police sex scandal threatens to tear the city apart. Ian Sander, Kim Moses, Dana Stevens, Corey Miller and Catherine Hardwicke executive produce for CBS Television Studios.
