Pay TV broadcaster Viasat has picked up rights to Australian crime drama Mr & Mrs Murder for its Viasat Crime channel across Scandinavia.
The deal is one of several struck for the series by distributor DCD Rights, with Acorn Media Group picking up rights for North America. It will also have season two if it is renewed by Australia’s Network Ten.
Furthermore, SPI Intil Film Box Channel has bought the show for the Middle East and Africa, the Czech Republic, the Middle East and ex-Yugoslav states where it will air on Filmbox Premium Movie channels across Central and Eastern Europe.
Mr & Mrs Murder is a 13-part murder mystery drama produced by FremantleMedia Australia in association with Bravado Productions. It debuted on Network Ten in February.
DCD Rights’ drama slate includes Australian dramas including The Slap, The Straits, The Strange Calls, A Moody Christmas and Rake, which has been adapted by US broadcast network Fox for midseason 2013/14.
