Universal Networks picks up Power slate

UK producer/distributor Power is sending four of its miniseries dramas into Latin America after securing a deal with Universal Networks.

The slate of titles includes Air Force One Is Down, in which rogue militants hijack the US President’s plane. It is based on the novel by Alistair Maclean.

Also picked up by Universal Networks are Delete, Exploding Sun and Cat.8, which are all part of Power’s End of the World miniseries titles.

Delete, about what happens when a global software system becomes self-aware and turns on mankind, is written by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie.

Exploding Sun sees a passenger spacecraft sent towards the sun, threatening to cause a solar flare powerful enough to send Earth back into the Stone Age. It is written by Jeff Schecter.

Meanwhile, Cat.8 stars Matthew Modine as a renegade scientist who tries to save the Earth from destruction by a giant fireball. It is directed by Kevin Fair and written by Donald Martin.
