German production company TeamWorx today began filming a new two-part historical event drama called Die Pilgerin (aka The Pilgrim).
Commissioned by German broadcaster ZDF and Austria’s ORF, the story sees a young woman in the 14th Century make a dangerous trip to fulfil the last wishes of her father.
It is written by Don Schubert and Khyana el Bitar, based on the novel by Iny Lorentz.
TeamWorx is producing in association with Beta Film. It is produced by Benjamin Benedict and Verena Monssen, coproduced by Michal Pokorny and executive produced by Sebastian Werninger.
Filming is taking place in the Czech Republic and Hungary until mid-August, with the series due to air in 2014.
