The BBC has renewed its slow-burning psychological crime drama The Fall for a second season.
BBC Two’s biggest drama series to launch in eight years, drawing 3.5 million viewers, news of the recommission comes after three episodes of its five-part debut season.
Starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, the story follows a police officer brought to Belfast to help catch a serial killer.
The twist takes place from the start, however, as viewers are shown who the killer is and are left to discover out why they do it and whether they will be caught.
Created by Allan Cubitt, it is produced by Gub Neal and Julian Stevens for Artists Studio, with executive producers Cubitt, Justin Thomson-Glover and Patrick Irwin.
