Sam Neill to star in ABC crime drama

Jurassic Park star Sam Neill will star in a new crime drama commissioned by Australian broadcaster ABC.

Old School (8×60′), produced by Matchbox Pictures for ABC1, tells the story of a retired cop (Neill) and a retired criminal (Bryan Brown) who pair up to solve crimes, unravel scams and make some money while avoiding the police and the underworld.

The series was created by Paul Oliver and Steve Wright. Oliver writes the series with Belinda Chayko, Matt Cameron, Chris Hawkshaw, Gregor Jordan, Michaeley O’Brien and Nick Parsons.

The producer is Helen Panckhurst and the executive producers are Tony Ayres and Penny Chapman.

Matchbox Pictures previously produced The Slap and The Straits for ABC.

Old School will begin production this month in Sydney. The series will be distributed internationally by NBCUniversal International Television Distribution.
