Israeli drama Prisoners of War – the show that inspired US thriller Homeland – is heading to Norway.
Norway’s NRK has picked up the series, which is due to launch on June 13, following a deal with Keshet International.
The distributor has also sold the show – known locally as Hatufim – to Canada, where it will air on Super Channel later this year.
Furthermore, Turkish production company Medyapim has optioned the format and will adapt it for the local market. The producer has previously translated other US hits such as Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
Keshet International has previously sold format rights to Pomodoro Stories for Colombia and Mexico, while the finished series has been picked up by Sky Arts in the UK; Arte for Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland; SBS Australia; and Netflix Scandinavia.
Russia’s Weit Media has also optioned the format.
Prisoners of War follows two soldiers as they attempt to re-adjust to their lives after returning home after 17 years in captivity.
