BBC investigates Doctor Blake Mysteries

The BBC has been without a daytime Australian drama since Neighbours moved to terrestrial rival Channel 5 in 2008.

But five years later, the British public broadcaster has made another acquisition from Down Under after picking up rights to ABC’s crime drama The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

Produced by December Media and distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertaiment, The Doctor Blake Mysteries is a ten-part murder mystery about a maverick country town doctor.

Set in 1959, the series stars Craig McLachlan (Neighbours), Nadine Garner, Cate Wolfe and Joel Tobeck.

It is produced by George Adams and executive produced by Tony Wright, Christopher Gist and Carole Sklan.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries first debuted on ABC in February this year and that same month was renewed for a second season.
