Bell Media-owned Bravo has picked up Jane Campion’s seven-part drama Top of the Lake and set the date for its Canadian debut.
Starring Elisabeth Moss and Holly Hunter, the series follows a detective investigating the disappearance of a pregnant 12-year-old girl, clashing along the way with the girl’s drug lord father and the guru of a local women’s camp.
Set and shot in New Zealand, it is produced by Emile Sherman, Iain Canning and Philippa Campbell. The executive producer is Christian Vesper.
Top of the Lake is produced by See-Saw Films for BBC Two, Sundance Channel, UKTV and BBC Worldwide. The latter holds distribution rights.
It will air on Bravo on July 13.
