Two new US series are coming to Australia’s SBS.
The network has acquired Vikings in a deal with MGM Television and Masters of Sex from Sony Pictures Television.
Vikings, starring Australian actor Travis Fimmel, is a nine-part drama about the Norsemen who raided, traded and explored during medieval times. Created and written by Michael Hirst, it was the first scripted drama series to air on US cable network History and is produced by World 2000 and Take 5 Productions.
Masters of Sex, meanwhile, is about Dr William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality. It is produced by Round Two Productions and Timberman/Beverly Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.
Vikings will premiere on SBS One in August and Masters of Sex in early October, four days after its US premiere on cable network Showtime.
