Spanish period drama Isabel is joining the slate of foreign dramas airing on Sky Arts.
Isabel (13×90′), which will debut in September, charts the life of Isabella I of Castile, one of the most important women in Spain’s history.
It was produced for Spanish broadcaster TVE, produced by Diagonal TV and debuted in 2012.
Sky Arts has also picked up season two of French comedy-drama Hard (12×30′), debuting on August 17, and season two of Spanish period-set Grand Hotel (16×90′), premiering in December.
Hard, written by Cathy Verney, is about a woman who struggles to run the adult film industry she inherited from her late husband.
The show first debuted in 2008 on France’s Canal+.
Grand Hotel, produced for Spain’s Antena 3 by Bambú Producciones, follows the lives of the owner family and servants of the hotel.
Sky Arts has previously aired Israeli dramas Be Tipul and Hatufim (Prisoners of War), Italian crime drama Romanzo Criminale, French drama Maison Close, Portugal’s Mysteries of Lisbon and another Italian series, Corleone.
