The Knick gets series run

US cable network Cinemax has ordered a new original series about the surgeons, nurses and staff working in a 1900s hospital in New York City.



Steven Soderbergh will direct Clive Owen in The Knick (10×60′), which will begin production in September.

Writers Jack Amiel and Michael Begler will executive produce with Soderbergh, Owen, Michael Sugar and Gregory Jacobs. The producer is Michael Polaire, while Kary Antholis and David Levine will oversee the series.

The Knick will debut on HBO-owned Cinemax in 2014.
