Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., one of the hottest new dramas coming out of the US this autumn, has been picked up by a UK broadcaster.
Channel 4 has won the race for the series, which is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios for US broadcast network ABC.
It will premiere in the UK shortly after its stateside debut in September.
The show, Marvel’s first live-action television series, is about the worldwide law enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D.
Clark Gregg returns in his role of Agent Phil Coulson from feature film Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. Coulson assembles a small, highly select group of agents to investigate the new, the strange and the unknown from across the globe protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
The cast of agents include Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet.
Among the executive producers are Joss Whedon, who also co-writes and directs the pilot, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.
The series was acquired by Channel 4 from Disney Media Distribution.
