Wilbur Smith’s series of Courtney novels are being adapted for television.
Corona Pictures, FremantleMedia International and writer JJ Connolly have partnered for the first three novels in the series, called Birds of Prey.
Birds of Prey is set in 17th Century Africa where the Courtney family battle to secure the clan’s fortunes in a land where empires, privateers, wild animals and African tribes and nations fight for control of the land and its treasures.
The series will be produced by Corona Pictures’ Richard Johns and Rupert Jermyn.
FremantleMedia International will co-develop the series and distribute it internationally.
