History can’t get enough Vikings

History in the US has placed an early renewal for its original drama Vikings, just four episodes into its second season.

The cable channel has ordered a ten-part third season for 2015, with production set to begin this summer.

Created and written by Michael Hirst, Vikings follows Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), a restless young warrior and family man who longs to find and conquer new lands across the sea and claims the spoils for his own.

The series is produced by World 2000 and Take 5 Productions.

Hirst executive produces with Morgan O’Sullivan, John Weber, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, James Flynn and Sheila Hockin.

MGM Television is worldwide distributor for the series outside of Ireland and Canada.
