BBC heads back to The Village

Filming has begun on the second season of The Village, BBC One’s ambitious drama that aims to tell the story of one village across the entire 20th Century.

Six more episodes are being made, set in 1923 following World War One and seen through the eyes of Bert Middleton – the young man who never leaves the village but sees the world change around him.

It stars Tom Varey, John Simm and Maxine Peake.

The Village is written by Peter Moffat and produced by Company Pictures. The executive producers are Polly Hill, John Yorke, George Faber and Moffat.

The producer is Tim Whitby.Distribution rights are held by All3Media International.Filming takes place in Derbyshire until early July.
