Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network has ordered a second season of its original drama From Dusk Till Dawn.
Based on the film of the same name, the fledgling cable channel has ordered a new 13-episode season of the show, which debuted earlier this month.
From Dusk Till Dawn centres on a bank robber and his violent, unpredictable brother, who are wanted by the FBI and Texas Rangers after a bank heist leaves several people dead.
The cast includes DJ Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Jesse Garcia, Eiza González, Wilmer Valderrama, Adrianne Palicki, Jake Busey, Don Johnson, Madison Davenport, Lane Garrison, Robert Patrick and Brandon Soo Hoo.
The series is produced by El Rey Network in association with Rodriguez International Pictures, FactoryMade Ventures and Miramax. The executive producers are Rodriguez, showrunner Carlos Coto, John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa. Diego Gutierrez is the co-executive producer.
Miramax also handles international distribution.
Netflix bought rights to the series for its subscribers in Canada, Ireland, Nordics, Netherlands, the UK and Latin America. Season two will also air on the VoD platform following its US debut.
