BBC America back on board with The Musketeers

BBC America has picked up the second season of adventure drama The Musketeers – before the debut of season one.

The Musketeers, which debuts in the US on June 22, retells the story created by Alexandre Dumas about a trio of bodyguards for King Louis XIII in 17th Century Paris.

The series was created by Adrian Hodges and is produced by BBC Drama Production for BBC One, BBC America and BBC Worldwide.

The executive producers are Hodges and Jessica Pope, with producer Colin Wratten.

It stars Luke Pasqualino, Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera, Howard Charles, Peter Capaldi, Maimie McCoy, Tamla Kari and Hugo Speer.

Season two will air on BBC America in 2015.

BBC One ordered season two in February.
