Honourable Woman travels to Scandinavia

Viewers in Scandinavia will get to see The Honourable Woman after the BBC Two drama was acquired by HBO Nordics.

BBC Worldwide completed the pre-sale for the series (8×69’/9×50′), which stars Maggie Gyllenhaal in her first TV role and comes from writer/director Hugo Blick.

The story is of one woman’s personal journey to right the wrongs conducted in a past life. As a young girl, Nessa Stein witnessed the assassination of her father by the Palestinian Liberation Organisation. Now in her thirties, Nessa is at the forefront of the Middle East peace process. But when she awards a lucrative contract to a Palestinian businessman, who is later found dead, she finds herself under the close scrutiny of Whitehall and the Secret Intelligence Service.

HBO Nordics will bring the series to homes in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark.

It is produced by Drama Republic and Eight Rooks Productions, and coproduced with Sundance TV in the US.
