Beta sells Velvet

Beta Film has sold Spanish drama Velvet into Italy and France.

Rai Uno and M6 have acquired rights to the series, set in the 1950s and 1960s in a famous Madrid fashion gallery.

It is produced by Bambu and aired in Spain on Antena 3 in March.

The story in the Art Deco clothing store Galerias Velvet follows the forbidden romance between the company heir (Miguel Angel Silvestre) and the lowly seamstress (Paula Echevarria).

Velvet, which has just been greenlit for a second season, was created by Ramón Campos and Gema R Neira.

Rai Uno and Cattleya are also producing a remake for Italian audiences.
