Showrunner signs on for Da Vinci season three

A former writer on The X-Files will become showrunner on Da Vinci’s Demons after the historical fantasy drama was renewed for a third season.

John Shiban will take the reins of the Starz original series, which tells the untold story of the world’s greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence.

Shiban will also executive produce with the series creator David S Goyer and BBC Worldwide Productions’ Jane Tranter.

Tom Riley stars as Da Vinci, with a cast that includes Laura Haddock, Elliot Cowan, Lara Pulver and Blake Ritson.

It is produced by Adjacent Productions.

Da Vinci’s Demons is distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide outside the US and English-speaking Canada, in partnership with Fox International Channels, which airs the series in 125 countries worldwide.
