Clive Owen stars in Cinemax’s new original drama The Knick, which debuts this summer.
The series, directed by Steven Soderbergh, is set in New York in 1900 and centres on Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.
The cast also includes Andre Holland, Eve Hewson, Jeremy Bobb, Juliet Rylance, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson, David Fierro, Maya Kazan, Grainger Hines and Leon Addison Brown.
Writers Jack Amiel and Michael Begler executive produce with Soderbergh, Owen, Michael Sugae and Gregory Jacobs. Michael Polaire is the producer.
It debuts on August 8.
