The life of Colombian film star Lady Tabares will be turned into a telenovela for RCN Television.
RCN has partnered with Sony Pictures Television for Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas (70×60′), which follows the true story of the singer’s rise from the ghettos of Medellín to worldwide fame as an actress, until she and her boyfriend are implicated in the murder of a local taxi driver.
She was convicted of the crime and released earlier this year after serving 12 years of her 26-year prison sentence.
It stars Natalia Reyes, Majida Issa, Julián Román, and Ernesto Benjumea.
The executive producer is Andrea Marulanda.
SPT’s production company Teleset will produce the series in Colombia, with production underway in Medellín and Bogotá.
It will air on RCN, with SPT selling the series worldwide.
