HBO has renewed The Leftovers for a second season.

The drama, created by showrunner Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, is based on the latter’s novel of the same name about the residents of a fictional town who try to unite three years after 140 million people disappear without a trace.

The ten-part first season, which debuted on June 29, stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Emily Meade, Amanda Warren, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Max and Charlie Carver, and Annie Q.

The Leftovers is executive produced by Lindelof, Perrotta, Peter Berg, and Sarah Aubrey, and co-executive produced by Ron Yerxa, and Albert Berger.

It is produced by White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros Television.
