Sky 1 has picked up three new acquisitions, including comic book adaptation The Flash.
Commissioned by The CW, The Flash follows Central City Police scientist Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), who has been standing still emotionally since the day his mother was murdered and his father unjustly jailed for the crime. But when an unexpected and devastating accident at the STAR Labs Particle Accelerator facility strikes Barry, he finds himself suddenly charged with the incredible power to move at super speeds.
Another acquisition, Forever, stars Ioan Grufford as a New York City medical examiner who is immortal. It is due to launch on ABC this fall.
The third pick-up is The Last Ship, a series based on William Brinkley’s novel for TNT about the crew of the USS Nathan James who must come to terms with the fact they are among the few survivors in a world devastated by a deadly virus.
All three were acquired from Warner Bros International Television Distribution, and they are due to air in 2014.
