The Outcast comes to BBC One

BBC One has ordered a two-part coming-of-age drama based on Sadie Jones’ novel The Outcast.

Set in post-war Britain, the story follows a ten-year-old boy who, when his mother dies, is left along with a father he barely knows after years away at war.

It stars George Mackay, Greg Wise, Hattie Morahan, and Jessica Brown Findlay.

The 2×90′ drama, written by Jones, is produced by Blueprint Pictures. The executive producers are Christine Langan, Beth Pattinson, Pete Czernin, and Graham Broadbent. The producer is Celia Duval.

The Outcast is due to air in 2015.
