Canal+ in Spain is heading to Minnesota after acquiring US drama Fargo.
Based on the film of the same name, it features new characters and a new story set in the American state. This time, the story follows Billy Bob Thornton as a rootless, manipulative man who meets and forever changes the life of a small town insurance salesman, played by Martin Freeman.
It is written by Noah Hawley, who executive produces with Warren Littlefield, Joel and Ethan Coen and Geyer Kosinski.
MGM Television and FX Productions produce the series.
Fargo will air on Canal+ this fall.
US cable channel FX has already ordered a second season of Fargo, with production of ten new episodes, telling a new story with new characters, due to begin in January 2015.
