Lifetime’s move to pick up a discarded series called Devious Maids is proving to be an worthwhile decision.
The pilot had been passed over at ABC, but it found a home at the cable channel and has now won a third season commission.
Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci will return in 13 new episodes scheduled to air in 2015.
The story follows a close-knit group of maids who bond together over their jobs, life struggles and the melodramatic universe that engulfs their employers.
Inspired by the telenovela Ellas son la alegría del hogar, Devious Maids is produced by ABC Studios, with creator Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria and Sabrina Wind executive producing with Ric Swartzlander, Brian Tanen, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Televisa USA’s Paul Presburger and Michael Garcia.
