FX has cancelled The Bridge, its adaptation of Danish/Swedish drama Bron/Broen.
The Bridge ran for two seasons on the US cable network, which has said it will not be ordering a third season.
A network statement said:
FX will not be moving forward with a third season of The Bridge.
The US series followed two detectives, Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) from El Paso PD and Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir) from Chihuahua State Police, who must work together to catch a serial killer operating on both sides of the US-Mexican border.
The Bridge is coproduced by Shine America and FX Productions.
Executive producers Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid adapted the series for American television from the series Bron/Broen, which was set on the border of Denmark and Sweden. Bron/Broen is produced by Sweden’s Filmlance and Denmark’s Nimbus Film.
