Netflix goes Between for Canadian drama

Netflix has partnered with Canadian broadcaster City and fledging VoD platform shomi for a new premium drama described as an original survivalist thriller series.

Between (6×60′) is the story of a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under. The series explores the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a ten-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.

Created by writer/director Michael McGowan, it will star Jennette McCurdy. McGowan executive produces with Don Carmody, David Cormican, and Naveen Prasad.

It is produced by Don Carmody Television, and Mulmur Feed Co, in association with Elevation Pictures Corp.

Between will premiere on City and shomi in Canada, and then on Netflix outside of Canada one year after its initial premiere.

Elevation will handle worldwide distribution.
