AMC will not move forward with two pilots.
Knifeman is set in 18th Century London and focuses on the story of John Tattersal, a hard-drinking, hard-living man not afraid to push the boundaries of modern medicine by running an unlicensed operating theatre and harvesting organs for his brother.
It was written by Rolin Jones and developed by Jones and Ron Fitzgerald, who are both executive producers alongsidee Media Rights Capital, Josh Donnen and Robert Zotnowski.
The second pilot, Galyntine, is a fantasy/action adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world where, following a technology induced disaster, small numbers of survivors are scattered around the planet and have been forced to adapt to isolation and unique challenges while shunning any form of technology.
It is written by Jason Cahill and executive produced by Cahill, Greg Nicotero, and Scott Free Productions’ David Zucker and Ridley Scott.
Both had been in the running for series orders for 2015 but have now been dropped.
