Filming has begun on the new Canal+ drama written by the creator of French crime series Braquo.
Section Zéro, from Olivier Marchal, is set in Europe, 2024, when indebted states give up their sovereignty to multinational corporations.
The most powerful of these, Prometheus, aims to expand its grip by replacing the police with private militia, and creating an army of robotic men – until one idealistic cop decides to fight to prevent the disappearance of the world as he knows it by leading an elite group, called Zero Section, into war.
The eight-part series was created by Olivier Marchal and Laurent Guillaume, who head the writing team alongside Franck Philippon, Edgar Marie, and David Martinez.
It is produced by Thomas Anargyros and Edouard de Vésinne for EuropaCorp Television, in coproduction with Bad Company and Umedia.
Filming will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, until July.
