Sky Atlantic in the UK and France’s Canal+ have confirmed a new season of cross-Channel drama The Tunnel.
The Tunnel 2: Debris (w/t) will reunite British detective Karl Roebuck (Stephen Dillane) and his French partner Elise Wasserman (Clémence Poésy) in a new original story.
In a departure from the second season of Danish/Swedish drama Bron/Broen, upon which the show is based, The Tunnel 2: Debris sees a passenger plane mysteriously crash into the English Channel, killing everyone on board and bringing together Roebuck and Wasserman to solve the case.
Joining the second season is producer Julian Stevens, while Ben Richards returns as lead writer.
It is produced by Kudos Film and Television and Shine France.
The executive producers are Ben Richards, Manda Levin, Karen Wilson, Nora Melhli, Jo McClellan and Anne Mensah.
Filming will start in the UK and France in March.
